After
writing an article for the forthcoming edition of
Coarse Fisherman, I had arranged with friend and
photographer Tom Legge to come to a local Day Ticket
water and get the necessary pictures. With the
article being about introducing people to angling, I
decided to gather a few of the girlies together for
the days session.
I
arrived as the venue opened and set up 6 ledger rods
and 2 stalking rods. About an hour later My
girlfriend Lisa and friends Gemma and Katie arrived,
closely followed by Winky and girlfriend Jess, then
good friend Alex Burch and his girlfriend Anabel. We
soon had the rods cast out and were sitting back
waiting for action. By now the rain had become a
complete nightmare and we were all huddled under
brollies.
We
had little time to rest though, and it didn't take
long for the girls to start hauling in Carp. Before
long our once dry swim had turned into a marshland,
far from ideal conditions for introducing people to
fishing! Tom arrived around 2pm, just in time for
the weather to start clearing.
By
the end of the day Tom had got plenty of photo's and
all of the girls had caught plenty of Carp between
them, with Gemma catching the biggest one of the
day, a 12lb Mirror Carp. Apart from the weather it
was a good fun day, the girls appeared to have
enjoyed it. Whether they'll ever feature in another
catch report is another story though!
