No, I
haven't been fishing solidly for nearly two months!
I know I said that I would try to keep this site up
to date with every fishing trip, but do you know how
much effort that takes! I will certainly try my
best, but since my fun on the Fens at the start of the season,
I haven't had many serious sessions; I have however
joined a new syndicate that has recently opened.
This new water is, as you'd expect, aimed at Carp
anglers and has been stocked with some very fast
growing Simmo Carp. For me though, the attraction of
this particular water is the fact that it had been
sitting there for around 15 years and has been
relatively un-fished, so who knows what it may hold!
Since Winky, Mark and Myself joined, we have landed
a lot of these Simmo Carp and think we now have a
good idea what to expect from our new water. Watch
this space!
During
this time I have also done a couple of evening
sessions for the local Rudd, with a bit of success
including a few more low 2lb specimens to float
fished bread baits. I also landed a near 2lb
Rudd/Bream Hybrid, which I unfortunately didn't
manage to get a photo of.
I
also had a stalking session for Carp on a small pit
I used to fish when I was younger and was delighted
to find the fish still their in decent numbers.
After around half an hour of baiting with mixers, I
had a good number of them confidently feeding and
managed a pristine mid double common on a freelined
artificial mixer fished right in the margins.
Winky,
Ratty, Mark and myself have been in the process of
getting our fishing kit ready for a fishing trip to
France. We have picked a lake where we will
hopefully stand a decent chance of not only Carp,
but Cats, Sturgeon and Grass Carp too. Fingers
crossed! |
