7/01/07 - Piking in the Mud

After all the talk of Badger Drain, Dad was starting to get very envious; especially when Wink had finally broken his 16lb PB! Badger Drain would have to wait however, as there was a certain River we just had to fish. The River was running off very hard, but due to it being littered with cattle drinks, we knew that these would be exceptionally good refuge points for fish wishing to get out of the direct flow. The fishing was to be however, a little disappointing, and after making a late start due to my Nan's 80th the previous night, we weren't the only ones with the same idea!

On speaking with others, it appeared that nothing was being caught. We decided to walk as far past the others as possible and make a start further upstream. After 30 minutes Dad's float ledgered Sardine was away and a spirited near double was landed. This was to be the only fish landed however, and after loosing a decent fish at around 3pm we left to get back home; not even the great outdoors was doing anything for my headache!
